The Emergency Relief Program at Clunes Community Health has received a much needed boost with a donation of $3,300 from the All Nations Masonic Lodge in Clunes and the Freemasons Foundation Victoria.
The Program, delivered by the Welfare Services Team at Hepburn Health, supports approximately 130 individuals each year through providing assistance in the form of food and fuel vouchers, material aide, utility bill payments as well as crisis intervention, information, advocacy and referral services.
The Program is available to those on a current healthcare card with financial assistance capped at $150 for singles and $300 per family, per annum. In 2014-15 Hepburn Health delivered $6,907 in Emergency Relief to clients in and around Clunes.
“Hepburn Health is the sole provider of Emergency Relief to communities across Hepburn Shire,” says Trish Collocott, CEO Hepburn Health. “The Program is critical in supporting our communities with Hepburn Shire ranked the highest in disadvantage across the Central Highlands region. “
“We very much appreciate the contribution of the All Nations Masonic Lodge and Grand Lodge of Victoria in supporting this program. The donation of $3,300 will go a long way to supporting vulnerable people in Clunes and surrounding areas.”
The cheque was presented to Trish Collocott by Ray Jessup, Worshipful Master of the All Nations Lodge accompanied by Garry Elliot.
The Freemasons of Victoria continue to make considerable support to local communities and Clunes is no exception.
